Forehead lifts can be performed under general anesthesia, or local anesthesia supplemented by a mild sedative to keep you relaxed, yet awake. It can be done endoscopically (via several very small incisions) or classically through an incision across the top of the head above the hairline. The technique used will depend on your concerns and desires. Excess skin, fat, and portions of the frown muscle are removed and the incision(s) closed with clips or sutures. Forehead and brow lifts may be performed alone, or along with other procedures such as a facelift or eyelid surgery.

Most patients are on their feet in a couple of days, and back to work within two weeks. Strenuous exertion, which increases your blood pressure, should be avoided for about a month, along with prolonged exposure to heat or the sun.
